A chance to rise, for every life

Through education, health and livelihood programmes we stand with rural communities across Nepal — not to hand out help, but to build what lasts.

Our purpose

Not charity. Partnership.

The only change that counts is the change still standing after we leave.
— The founding team

Mokchya Nepal began from one plain belief: no community needs to be told what its problems are, or what a solution should look like. The answers are already there. What is usually missing is resource, and company.

So we never arrive in a village with a finished plan. We listen first, design the programme with local teachers, health workers, mothers' groups and the ward office — and then hand the work over to the people who will still be there in ten years.

01How we work

A three-step method, kept deliberately simple

  1. 01

    Listen first

Before a single activity begins we spend months in the community — household surveys, school visits and open assemblies, so the priorities are set by the people who live there.

  2. 02

    Build together

Local teachers, health workers and youth volunteers run the programme. Our job is training, resources and showing up consistently — not standing at the front.

  3. 03

    Hand it over

Every programme has an exit plan written on day one. Within three to five years, full ownership moves to a local committee or the municipality.

02Programmes

Six areas of work, one goal

Each programme starts from the same question: what does this community need most, right now?
