Dhading water scheme handed over to the users' committee
After 18 months of construction, full responsibility for a scheme serving 142 households now sits with the local committee.
A gravity-fed water scheme, built over 18 months in a village in Dhading, has been formally handed over to the water users' committee.
The scheme serves 142 households and two schools. Until now, many families walked around 40 minutes twice a day to carry water from the spring.
With the handover the committee has begun collecting a monthly tariff, and two local technicians have completed their maintenance training. The repair fund already holds the minimum balance it needs.
